Scarborough is the largest Yorksire holiday resort, situated right on the Yorkshire coast. Scarborough's geography includes a high rocky promontory supporting 11th century Scarborough Castle's ruins. It separates the sea front into a North Bay and a South Bay. The South Bay was the site of the original early medieval settlement and the harbour, which forms the current Old Scarborough Town which is the main holiday focus. People have been coming to Scarboorough for their holidays for over 100 years, and Scarborough South Bay is a typical Englkish seaside resort, with golden sands, deck chair huts, lots of amusement arcades, and plenty of places serving fish and chips.
